You can still eat outside during the winter at these restaurants that offer enchanted igloos. There are three restaurants that are offering this unique and cool dining option. The Barrel in Bolton Landing, The Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls, and The Inn at Erlowest in Lake George.
Adam Savage, Director of Culinary for Spruce Hospitality, took the lead on designing the gingerbread house. He and his team have worked for months to plan and prepare for the display. Adam said, "The house is made of over 987 lbs of homemade gingerbread, 223 lbs of icing, and 152 lbs of assorted candy. The actual production and building of the display took well over 200 hours.”
The candy for the display was sourced by The Candy Space, located in the French Mountain Common Outlets and a sister company of The Queensbury. The Queensbury Hotel also partnered with the Upstate Modern Railroaders of South Glens Falls, who provided train sets for the display.
The Queensbury Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Glens Falls It was built in 1926, it is a Historic Hotel of America and is on the National Registry of Historic Places.
A special tribute is attached to the 49th annual Adirondack Balloon Festival this year. The event runs from September 22nd through the 25th. This year's festival will honor Joan Grishkot. She and her husband Walter co-founded this spectacular event. Walter passed away in 2011 and Joan passed away in 2021.

The Royal Rumble is arguably the second-most popular wrestling event behind WrestleMania. The inaugural 1988 event was won by Glens Falls, New York native "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.
It's one of the most beautiful displays and amazing events in the area. It's the 48th annual Adirondack Balloon Festival and this year they will be saluting all local essential workers. Because of the pandemic, this year's Balloon Festival will look a bit different. It is recommended that spectators wear masks and in an effort to lessen crowds, there will be no food or craft vendors this year. But we will still see some of the most beautiful hot air balloons flying above the Adirondacks.
