During the last three weeks, we've talked more about snow and potential storms than we have all winter long it seems. Now, the National Weather Service is predicting a significant snow event for Monday evening, through Wednesday.

There are a few scenarios when forecasters look at the weather models for this weekend. One model shows the chance for sunshine this Saturday for Utica's St. Patrick's Day Parade. Another model shows rain Friday night into Saturday. Finally, a third model shows a low pressure weather event that could bring significant snow to the region on Saturday.

The latest storm to hit the Mohawk Valley has turned out to be yet another snowstorm disappointment for the winter of 2023. The storm, for a brief period on Friday night, was intense with heavy snow and near zero visibility, especially along the New York State Thruway between Herkimer and Syracuse.

The National Weather Service is warning that Upstate New York could be facing not one, but two winter storms next week. It's still too early to tell, but meteorologists say the conditions are right for snow.
