Voters head to the polls today for Election Day.

Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

There are several key local races.

Incumbent Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente is facing a challenge from Democrat Michael Hennessy.

Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri faces Councilman Joe Marino in what's been a heated race.

There are also several Utica Common Council seats up from grabs, along with Common Council President.

And in Rome, Jacqueline Izzo is being challenged by David Halpin.

Meanwhile, early voting was offered for the first time In New York State.

That's ended with state officials saying about a quarter of a million people took advantage of the ten-day period to vote early prior to Election Day.
