Free Youth Snowmobile Safety Course Coming to Oneida Rec Center

We haven't officially hit winter, but an early taste of snowmobile season has everyone rarin' to go, especially the kids. A rare opportunity to get the younger ones legal with a Youth Snowmobile Saftey Course is coming to Oneida December 7. Here's what you need to know.

A combined effort from Oneida Parks and Recreation and Madison County 4-H will bring a State Parks Officer to the Oneida Recreation Center 217 Cedar Street for the free class. It runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. Completing the program will provide the person with an NYS Snowmobile Safety Certificate. 

Youth 14 to 17-year-olds can operate a snowmobile once they have completed the safety course, 10 to 14-year-olds can also operate a snowmobile with the certificate when accompanied by an adult. The class size is limited to 25 people, so pre-registering is a must.
