Additional Information

The Brothertown Indians will be the topic of the Clinton Historical Society program on Sunday, February 10, at 2 p.m.
Between the 1780s and the 1830s nearly 300 Brothertown Indians settled and lived in southern parts of the town of Kirkland and the northern part of the town of Marshall. These settlers, from seven different tribes in Long Island, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, were displaced in the 1700s.
Marshall Historian Janet Dangler will share the story of the Brothertown Indians and their part in our area's history.
