If You're a Roller Coaster Fan, You're Going to Love This!

If you’re someone who loves the rush of a huge drop, crazy speeds, and rides that leave you saying “let’s do that again,” you’re going to want to add this one to your bucket list.

A brand-new record-breaking roller coaster is coming to Six Flags Great Adventure in 2027, and it sounds absolutely insane.

BAKUNAWA, the world’s tallest and fastest spinning launch coaster, will become the centerpiece attraction of the park’s newly transformed Boardwalk area. And after hearing what this ride will do, I already know I can’t wait to give it a try!

Standing an incredible 382 feet tall and reaching speeds of 100 mph, BAKUNAWA will rank among the five tallest roller coasters in the world. But the height and speed are only part of what makes this ride so unique.

A Roller Coaster Experience Unlike Anything Else

Inspired by Bakunawa, the legendary sea serpent from Philippine mythology, this coaster combines massive thrills with immersive storytelling and technology that has never been used before.

Riders will experience the world’s first free-spinning, floorless coaster trains, meaning the seats will rotate throughout the ride. Every trip on BAKUNAWA will be different because the spinning happens independently, creating a ride experience you won’t get anywhere else.

The nearly two-minute, 17-second adventure begins with a launch that takes riders from 0 to 60 mph before climbing high above The Boardwalk. Then comes the world’s first upside-down launch, accelerating riders from 60 to 80 mph while completely inverted. The final launch sends the train flying to 100 mph before reaching the top of the massive tower.
