You may be tempted to hang that cute lanyard, fuzzy dice, or air fresheners from your rearview mirror. But you may want to think twice.

There are many laws that are on the books in New York State that involve operating a motor vehicle. The law about hanging things from your rearview mirror seems odd but you could get a ticket if you violate it.

When I bought my first car, I did what everyone else was doing. I hung one of those pine tree air fresheners on my rearview mirror.
