What You Can Bring

On Saturday, April 18, you can drop off items like TVs, computers, and other electronics at the Oneida-Herkimer Recycling Center on Sewage Plant Road.

Instead of guessing what to do with them, everything will be handled the right way.

And it’s not just electronics.

You can also bring up to three boxes of confidential documents per car to be safely shredded on-site. It’s a great chance to finally deal with that stack of old paperwork you’ve been meaning to go through.

More Than Just E-Waste

The event is covering even more bases.

The DEC will be collecting unused or expired prescription medications (just no needles or sharps), helping keep them out of the wrong hands.

There’s also a way to give back — old cell phones will be collected and donated to Cell Phones for Soldiers, helping military members and veterans stay connected with loved ones.

Why It Matters

Events like this make a big impact.

Past recycling days have helped collect more than 600,000 pounds of electronics, keeping harmful materials out of landfills and putting them on the path to proper disposal.
