You may have heard that village officials have put an end to swimming at a portion of Sylvan Beach. There have been reports that say swimming has been banned at Sylvan Beach which isn't entirely true.

There are 4,800 feet of shoreline in Sylvan Beach and the village officials have put an end to swimming at a small part of the shoreline. That portion is 125 feet or .03 tenths a-foot of swimmable shoreline.

Earlier this year, the village announced that their part of the beach area- which accounts for 125 feet or .o3% of the total 4,800 would be marked as "Swim At Your Own Risk".

You can still swim at Sylvan Beach in the other 4,675 feet of shoreline, don't forget your sunscreen.
