7 Time Champ Jimmie Johnson Wins For The 7th Time At Texas

After only one top 10 in the first 6 races of the season, some were second guessing the 7 time champ. Jimmie Johnson put an end to that talk Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway saying, “I guess I remembered how to drive!”

Below are some sweet pics podcast partner Dennis Neal shot of Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Blaney who won both stages and led a race high 148 laps to no avail…

Scoop’s Vinyl Oddities: ‘The London Chuck Berry Sessions’

This vinyl oddity is notable for its closing moments when the London audience refuses to leave the concert venue after being whipped into a frenzy when Chuck Berry performs ‘Johnny B. Goode’ as an encore. The house announcer pleads with the crowd to exit after Chuck leaves the stage because a Pink Floyd concert is supposed to begin shortly, but the manic crowd just chants ‘We want Chuck!” over and over again.

Scoop’s Vinyl Oddities: Led Zeppelin’s ‘Song Remains The Same’ Box Set

I love this box set! 180 gram vinyl that sounds amazing with extra tracks like the outstanding live version of ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’. This is a scratch and dent copy I got on ebay for about $30. I could care less about the edge wear on the box because the vinyl sounds so fantastic! New copies can be found for as little as $50 on discogs, ebay, and amazon. One of my favorites from my collection.

This is a record I picked up at Other Music, a very cool record store in Greenwich Village which unfortunately just closed earlier this year. A couple years ago as I thumbed through the racks of vinyl, I was amazed to find this Ramones concert recorded in Utica at 4 Acres! The sound quality is pretty good for being an unofficial release, and I have since seen this with a different cover…Maybe you were there???
